About us

Vision: Asian American individuals and communities are able to go about their normal daily activities - free to live, thrive, & prosper,

Mission: To educate the Asian American community against discrimination. UPC will be helpful to empower the community to be heard.

How UPC Began

After traveling the world during her military and civil service, Leanna Louie saw SF Chinatown had changed from a thriving community to a community struggling against increased racist attacks, business losses, and vandalism at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Together with her partner, Robert Lowe, they formed the United Peace Collaborative in March 2020  to help restore the dignity and vibrancy of their beloved Chinatown community.

We hope to keep Chinatown a community where people can conduct their daily activities without harm.

  • Since March 2020, UPC has Invested over 6000 volunteer hours conducting walking and driving patrols, 7 days a week
  • We patrol in SF Chinatown every day!  This daily commitment began in March 2020
  • We are part of a 300+ online merchant communication network to inform and be informed of community activities.
  • We removed 800+ graffiti tags from storefronts, residences, alleys, Stockton Tunnel, etc. since June 2020
  • We have an active social media presence to share personal safety tips.
  • Our Motto- To Observe, Record & Record any potential incident. and not to engage potential perpetrators.
